#140Characters: Wrestlemania 37 preview

In what has become somewhat of a tradition, with the exception of last year, when COVID-19 hit and threw everything into disarray, we here at Signs of the Times generally like to give either a preview or recap of Wrestlemania each year (sometimes both), even though we assume that there is literally no one out there that both reads our blog and watches professional wrestling. Nevertheless, we're here once again, on the eve of Wrestlemania Saturday - right up against it, as they say in the business - with about an hour and a half to go until showtime, at the time of starting this post.

Quickly, we thought we'd preview all of the matches for this weekend's beat-em-up festivities, just in case you decide to plop down on the couch for seven or eight hours to watch people fight. To make it even quicker for us and easier for you, we're gonna sum up all of our responses in 140 characters or less.

Let's get to it!

How has the WWE been affected by COVID-19?

Since April 2020, WWE programming has been without live fans. Last year's 'Mania took place in an empty arena. Tonight, the fans are back!

How has Wrestlemania, specifically, needed to be altered?

WM 36 was split into 2 nights & featured 2 wacky, pre-recorded, "cinematic" matches. Still multi-night now but nothing will be pre-recorded.

How can I watch Wrestlemania 37 this weekend?

WWE Network has gone the way of the dodo. All WWE content has migrated to NBC's "Peacock." You can sign up for Peacock premium super cheap.

Wrestlemania 37 - Saturday Night

WWE Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs Drew McIntyre

Background Information:

Drew got the title at WM 36 in an empty arena. Lashley's a relatively new champ but some of his allies have recently turned on him. Ominous.

What to Expect:

These are two of the strongest guys in the company. The rivalry has gotten quite heated & they'll beat the living heck out of each other.

 Winner Prediction:

Would love to see McIntyre win the championship in front of an actual audience. He has absolutely carried the company through the COVID era.

Bad Bunny & Damian Priest vs The Miz & John Morrison

Background Information:

Miz & Morrison are jokers. Bad Bunny is this year's celebrity appearance. He's not an actual wrestler but he'll bring in a lot of eyeballs.

What to Expect:

Lots of hijinks. Damian Priest will do the heavy lifting. I'd be shocked if Bad Bunny spent 5 minutes inside the ring, actually fighting.

 Winner Prediction:

There is not a chance in the world that Bad Bunny loses this match. He'll inevitably cover Miz for the 1-2-3.

WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) vs AJ Styles & Omos

Background Information:

New Day = multi-time champions. Styles/Omos have never fought an actual match together, but Omos is gigantic and seemingly indestructible.

What to Expect:

Styles will likely work most of the match, building suspense for what damage Omos will do in his first WWE fight. Expect destruction.

 Winner Prediction:

Upset alert! New Day have much more experience but Styles and Omos winning the belts would be the biggest surprise of the weekend.

Steel Cage Match: Braun Strowman vs Shane McMahon

Background Information:

Shane has been bullying Braun for weeks, calling him stupid and constantly pranking him, but he'll have nowhere to run within a steel cage.

What to Expect:

Despite being locked in a cage, there will very likely be outside interference. Also, Shane will undoubtedly pull off a death-defying stunt.

 Winner Prediction:

Almost 100% certainty that WWE doubles down on their anti-bullying stance, having Strowman tear McMahon limb from limb. Braun wins, easy.

Cesaro vs Seth Rollins

Background Information:

Rollins, fresh off paternity leave, has had a hard time winning over potential allies. Cesaro has stood up to him on several occasions.

What to Expect:

Expect to see perennial underdog Cesaro swing the villainous Rollins around by his boots for a considerable amount of time. It's hilarious.

 Winner Prediction:

Cesaro will probably pick up the win here, unless somebody comes out to aid Rollins, forming a "heel" faction for post-Mania storylines.

Lana & Naomi vs Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose vs The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott) vs Natalya & Tamina vs Billie Kay & Carmella

Background Information:

This is simply a way to put as many women on-screen this weekend as possible. The winner gets a title shot on Sunday night.

What to Expect:

Great time for a bathroom break for all the fans attending the event in person. Most likely will end up as the worst match of the weekend.

 Winner Prediction:

Natalya & Tamina have been getting lots of screen time lately, so they're probably the favorites. Maybe oddball combo Billie Kay & Carmella?

SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Sasha Banks (c) vs Bianca Belair

Background Information:

Bianca Belair, who many see as the future of the women's division, won the 2020 Royal Rumble to earn a spot in Saturday night's main event.

What to Expect:

Bianca calls herself "The EST of WWE." Expect her to showcase why she's the fastest, strongest, smartest, etc. Should be a solid match.

 Winner Prediction:

Wrestlemania is the most logical PPV of the year for MAJOR title changes. WWE can show their faith in Belair by giving her the belt tonight.

Wrestlemania 37 - Sunday Night

RAW Women's Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs Rhea Ripley

Background Information:

Very little build-up. Ripley is making her main roster PPV debut at WM 37 to face Asuka, one of the most dominant women in the business.

What to Expect:

This could be a dark horse contender for Match of the Weekend. Ripley and Asuka are very good. Should be a great fight. Fans will love it.

 Winner Prediction:

Again, WWE can cement their trust in Ripley as a face of the future here, but not EVERY title can change hands this weekend... right?

The Fiend (w/ Alexa Bliss) vs Randy Orton

Background Information:

Orton has attempted to light The Fiend on fire repeatedly over the past few months - and actually succeeded once - but now HE'S BAAAAAAAACK!

What to Expect:

This one is gonna be gimmicky & weird as heck. It's one spot where I bet WWE wishes they could still do a pre-recorded match. NOT FOR KIDS.

 Winner Prediction:

Bray Wyatt is notorious for losing big pay-per-view matches, so I bet he wins this one, but I've been wrong before. Many, many times.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match - Nigerian Drum Fight: Big E (c) vs Apollo Crews

Background Information:

Apollo, for some reason, feels slighted by Big E, and his character has also recently reverted back to, apparently, his African roots. Odd.

What to Expect:

I literally have no idea what a "Nigerian Drum Fight" is, so your guess is as good as mine.

 Winner Prediction:

I think Big E will win this one. They've got to let SOME wrestlers retain their titles this weekend.

Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn (w/ Logan Paul)

Background Information:

Zayn alleges that WWE has been conspiring against him. Has his own camera crew. His real-life BFF & on-screen enemy Owens has had enough.

What to Expect:

Owens really wanted to jump off the Raymond James Stadium pirate ship last year before COVID hit. Bet that happens this year, somehow.

 Winner Prediction:

Don't know how yet, exactly, but I bet celeb guest Logan Paul  goes rogue to influence the decision and Kevin Owens walks away victorious.

WWE United States Championship Match: Riddle (c) vs Sheamus

Background Information:

Battle of the stereotypes: Riddle is a stoner bro and Sheamus is an Irish brawler. Another instance of very little build-up for this match.

What to Expect:

One of several relatively straight-forward fights this weekend. I don't particularly see this one as being memorable. Bathroom break!

 Winner Prediction:

I've got Riddle winning, simply because this is an easy title to keep on a current champion. Doesn't mean I like him, though.

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (w/ Reginald) (c) vs [Saturday Night Winner - TBA]

Background Information:

Jax & Baszler will face the winner of the big women's tag team brawl from Saturday night. They'll have their stooge Reginald at ringside.

What to Expect:

Domination by Jax and Baszler with multiple attempts at interference by Reginald.

 Winner Prediction:

I don't believe that any of the teams featured on Saturday night are ready to take the titles off of the current champs.

WWE Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (w/ Paul Heyman) (c) vs Edge vs Daniel Bryan

Background Information:

Edge won the Men's Royal Rumble to earn his way into this match. Fan-favorite Bryan complained until he was granted a spot, as well.

What to Expect:

Overall, should be a pretty good match. It's almost certainly the match WWE most wants to be talked about by fans when all is said and done.

 Winner Prediction:

Reigns loses. This is the time for it. I want Edge, but pre-Mania programming has really been slanted toward Bryan becoming a new champ.

BOOM! There it is! We've got the blog done with 12 minutes to spare before Saturday night's festivities begin. I better post this really quickly, fire up the George Foreman grill and boot up the ol' Playstation 5. It's showtime.

To those of you who are watching, let me know what you think about everything that goes down. Wrestlemania is easily the biggest event of the WWE calendar year, although it isn't always the most fun or the most well-received by fans. Who knows what this weekend has in store?

Leave a comment below, follow me on Twitter (here and here) or hit me up on Facebook. Gotta go. Have a good one!

#140Characters: 20 Questions about "Umbrella Academy" Season 2

The sophomore season of Netflix's quirky superpowered hit, "The Umbrella Academy," launched a week and a half ago, and we've got questions - 20 of them, a little more precise! My wife Miranda and I sat down tonight and answered them all, in 140 characters or less. Although we watched the show together, we tried not to discuss our answers to these questions beforehand, to try to give the most unbiased, authentic responses possible.

Because we assume that anyone who reads this blog has either 1) already finished Season 2 or 2) doesn't care, a spoiler alert shouldn't be necessary, but we'll give you one anyway. Do not continue reading this post, unless you're prepared for some major spoilers from "The Umbrella Academy" Season 2.

1. First of all, did you like Season 2 of "The Umbrella Academy"?

Aaron: Yes, mostly. The first 7 episodes were great. The last two, particularly, got very, very confusing at some points. Too profane for parents.
Miranda: Overall, I enjoyed watching the show. Loved the music. Towards the end, there were times I was left confused or a bit lost in the story.

2. Rank the siblings, in order of how much you like them.

A: This season, I'd say: Diego, Luther, Ben, Five, Allison, Klaus ........................ Vanya. Vanya sucks and messes everything up, always.

3. Which sibling(s) had the best season?

A: Great season for Diego, who was previously one of my least favorites in S1. I also generally enjoy Luther, but he got a bit goofy in E8-10.
M: Diego showed the most improvement. He had the strongest storyline throughout the season, and Klaus thought he looked like Antonio Banderas.

4. Which sibling’s power was the most worthless in Season 2?

M: It's a toss up between Luther and Klaus. Neither of them really used their powers, other than Luther rigging fights and Klaus talking to Ben.
A: Klaus. He's crazy, and the cult stuff was good for some laughs, but what did he actually do, other than allow Ben to possess him? Nothing!

5. Do you prefer the show being set in the present or the past?

M: I think I preferred the show being set in the past versus the present. It was fun to see how the siblings fit themselves into the past.
A: Gimme that time travel. Saving JFK is so cliche, though, and trying to prevent his assassination never solved ANYTHING in any TV show, ever.

6. Which sibling was best suited to stay in the ‘60s?

A: Allison was actually doing really well until she "rumored" the coffee all over that diner owner's hands. She and Ray were good together.
M: I think the sibling best suited to stay in the past would have to be Allison. Allison seemed, to me, to make the most of her time there.

7. In your opinion, did the time travel work? Why or why not?

A: No. Too many plot holes in the last 3 episodes. Plus, saving Dave or taking Ray or Sissy back to 2019 would have created even more problems.
M: It mostly worked. I was somewhat confused as to why they were originally separated at the beginning of the show. Was that ever explained?

8. If you had to pick the funniest moment of the season, which would it be?

A: The moment that had me dying was when Diego & Luther called poor Olga Foroga and threatened to kill her before nightfall. Great stuff.
M: A funny moment of the season is when Luther first arrives and is yelling for Allison and the homeless man starts yelling for Allison, too.

9. What was the best soundtrack choice in Season 2?

A: So many great songs! But the one that really got me bumpin' was The Interrupters' cover of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," featured in Episode 5.
M: "Hello" is Swedish was hilarious. The two Swedes sending their brother's foot off on a boat & lighting it on fire was so funny!

10. Talk about Lila.

M: I don't understand her power. Why at the end was she able to replicate each siblings powers? Why wasn't it introduced at the start?
A: Ridiculous bangs. I tried so hard to like her, but she flip-flopped too many times - to the point that I hated her by the end of the season.

11. Talk about The Handler.

M: It was all about personal gain for her, and she didn't care about anyone except for herself. I did like her better as a brunette, though.
A: Knock-off, low-rent Lada Gaga wannabe. Couldn't stand her at all, especially when she'd use innuendo when talking to Five. Nasty old hag.

12. Talk about Reginald Hargreeves.

A: What a piece of garbage. Terrible person, even worse father. And now he's... an alien? No idea what was up with that. Very strange.
M: The man takes off his face! Was he good or bad? I was confused at the end. I thought he wanted JFK dead?  Why did he change the Academy?

13. Who is the real villain of this season?

M: The real villain, I would have to say, was The Handler.
A: The terrible wigs worn by the Swedes.

14. Who is the unsung hero of Season 2?

M: The unsung hero of S2 would be Ben. He single-handedly stopped the apocalypse by helping Vanya calm down and control her powers.
A: Herb! LOL... Also, Ben. Got me right in the feels when he died. Dang, what a heartbreaker.

15. At any point, did you think Season 2 was going a bit off the rails?

A: They wasted way too much time focusing on Harlan. His thing with Vanya never made sense to me, and it basically ended up being pointless.
M: S2 started going off the rails in the episode where Harlan and Vanya somehow became connected. I still don't understand the point of that.

16. Which parts of Season 2, if any, were the most confusing?

A: Anything involving Harlan, Five's inconsistent ability to time jump successfully and the true intentions of the Majestic 12 come to mind.
M: Last few episodes, there was just one thing after another that left me saying, huh? Harlan and Vanya, Reginald Hargreeves and Lila's powers.

17. Were there any storylines that felt totally unnecessary?

A: Carl and Sissy's abusive relationship was unnecessary to begin with, but they ABSOLUTELY didn't need to throw in the lesbian love affair.
M: The storyline between Vanya & Sissy was the most pointless for me. It didn't really progress the story, then didn't go anywhere in the end.

18. Which character would you most like to slap?

A: Five, no questions asked. That kid is a great actor, but, man, his character is such a little brat!
M: I would most like to slap Number Five. He is constantly rude to everyone and thinks he is the smartest person in the room. Plus, he is small.

19. Do you think the Sparrow Academy is going to be good or evil?

M: I think they will be good. I want to know what powers the Sparrows have, and why Reginald didn't adopt the original 7 in the new timeline.
A: Oh, they're totally evil. Nothing quite says "bad guy" like coming back from the dead and growing a mustache.

20. Name one storyline for which you demand answers in Season 3.

M: Definitely demand answers for Reginald Hargreeves. The man took off his face and became some sort of alien,  killing his whole secret group.
A: Alien Dad and Robot Mom. Also, did the last Swede finally achieve nirvana after joining Destiny's Children? The people need to know!

***

If you've finished Season 2 of "The Umbrella Academy," we'd love to know what you thought. Feel free to answer any of these questions or ask us new ones in the comments section below, on Facebook, or on Twitter (here and here).

Until next time,

Just try not to bump into yourself in an alternate timeline, ok?

Re-ranking the Marvel Cinematic Universe - July 2019

Coinciding with the theatrical release of "Avengers: Endgame," we re-watched (almost) and re-ranked every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we did so in great detail. You can read it here. But now, taking "Endgame" into consideration, along with the recently released "Spider-man: Far From Home," we've updated our standings.

Because we so extensively reviewed the movies in previous blogs, including talking "Endgame" and "Far From Home" in this new blog, we've decided to shorten our thoughts down to the old reliable #140Characters or less.

Behold:

23. The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Never saw it. Likely never will. Swapping Norton with Ruffalo made this movie feel completely obsolete. I pretend it doesn't exist.

22. Iron Man 3 (2013)

My least favorite Marvel film. The Mandarin twist totally ruined this entire movie. #unforgivable

21. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

The first MCU movie I'd have felt uncomfortable taking kids to. Awesome soundtrack, fun characters, but couldn't live up to its predecessor.

20. Iron Man 2 (2010)

Introduced us to Black Widow and a new actor playing War Machine. Whiplash had a cool scene. A decent but largely forgettable sequel.

19. Thor (2011)

My least favorite of the "Big Three" origin movies. Too much hype about shirtless Hemsworth. Thankfully, Thor has gotten better with time.

18. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

Gotta love Ant-Man, but this movie felt almost entirely inconsequential until the post-credits scene. Evangeline Lilly did well as the Wasp.

17. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

It was humorous. It was very colorful. But that doesn't mean it was great. They tried so hard to be funny that it got to be distracting.

16. Spider-man: Homecoming (2017)

Another Spidey reboot? Really? Better than expected, but still wasn't ready to fully accept a new Peter Parker. Michael Keaton was awesome.

15. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

A good movie, but we didn't truly understand what Marvel was building quite yet. Perhaps they didn't, either. #StarSpangledManWithAPlan

14. Thor: The Dark World (2013) - Up two spots after watching "Endgame"

I liked it to begin with, but it feels much more important in retrospect, after seeing Endgame. However, arguably the worst MCU villains.

13. Black Panther (2018)

A very important movie for particular demographics. Killmonger was a fantastic villain and, overall, the movie wasn't half bad. #TeamShuri

12. Captain Marvel (2019)

Kicked off a new era (and destination) for the MCU. For better or worse, the gender of the hero does not determine the quality of the movie.

11. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - Up two spots after watching "Endgame"

You may have forgotten all the good stuff that happens in Ultron. I know I did. This is another one that is better after watching Endgame.

10. Doctor Strange (2016)

Perhaps the most underrated movie of the MCU. Tremendous special effects, a cool new character and some doctrinally accurate life lessons.

9. Ant-Man (2015)

A heist movie! Ant-Man was a much cooler character than ever anticipated. Hilarious - one of the funniest movies of the MCU.

8. Iron Man (2008)

A movie that changed the history of Hollywood. A perfect, intriguing introduction to the world of Marvel superheroes. All-time classic.

7. Spider-man: Far From Home (2019)

Definite improvement over Homecoming. Mysterio is instantly a top villain. Tom Holland is growing into his role perfectly. Would see again.

6. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Unbelievably, shockingly, this movie totally  worked! A blast, from start to finish - the most rewatchable movie of the MCU. #BestSoundtrack

5. Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Team Cap vs Team Stark lived up to the billing. Our first look at the new Spider-man and Black Panther. Loved the airport fight scene.

4. Marvel's The Avengers (2012)

Some weren't sure a big-screen team-up of this magnitude would work. Turns out, it was just a taste of things to come. Ground. Breaking.

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

A bonafide spy thriller. Captain America high-jumps up the superhero power rankings and becomes the new face of truth & justice. #HailHYDRA

2. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The final battle was the most glorious scene in the history of cinema. Truly jaw-dropping. A beautiful end for the original Avengers.

1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

The greatest superhero movie ever made. Everybody got a chance to shine, and an ending that absolutely nobody saw coming. Incredible stuff.

#140Characters: 'Avengers - Infinity War' preview

Back in my day, Twitter had this thing called a "character limit." They gave you 140 characters, including spaces and symbols, and that was it. Who even knows what it is these days? You just keep typing until it tells you to stop. I'm not sure I've ever hit the new limit. Composing the perfect tweet used to be a challenge. It was back then, in yonder days of letter limitation, that I thought it would be cool to do a thing on the blog called #140Characters, where I would have to write the blog as if it were a series of 140-character tweets. Now, that's not really a thing anymore, but I figured I'd give the idea another run (I did it once before), for the sake of brevity and in order to pump out a quick blog before the worldwide release of the new movie "Avengers: Infinity War."

Ten years of Marvel movies have led to this moment, as "The Mad Titan" Thanos encounters the Avengers and the other protagonists of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his search for the six Infinity Stones. The collection of these powerful gems and their subsequent placement inside a huge glove called the Infinity Gauntlet would grant Thanos virtually unlimited power and the ability to wipe out basically whatever he wants. "Infinity War" will undoubtedly be an action-packed, star-stuffed blockbuster with widespread, far-reaching and long-lasting consequences for the MCU for years to come.

I've got my Character Counter warmed up and ready to go. Let's ask some questions to help us look forward to the silver screen showdown this weekend - in #140Characters or less.

What are you most looking forward to about "Avengers: Infinity War"?

This is the culmination of 10 years of amazing movies! It will be amazing to see all these superheroes all be on the screen together.

Character count: 133

What are you least looking forward to about "Avengers: Infinity War"?

Gonna be honest - Marvel superfans drive me NUTS! Not looking forward to seeing/hearing them geek out like this movie is life and death.

Character count: 136

Which characters are you most excited to see interacting with each other?

Guardians of the Galaxy and pretty much anybody else. I think they'll be funny with Thor, and Star-Lord/Iron Man will be hilarious.

Character count: 131

Are there any characters that you are not looking forward to seeing?

Black Widow. She's the worst. Does anyone like her? And giving her a new hairstyle for every movie isn't magically going to make her "cool."

Character count: 140

How do you feel about Thanos? The MCU has been teasing him for years, but we've never really gotten a good look at him.

Not digging him so far. He is ugly and seems like a wuss, so he's really going to have to be a baller in this movie to earn my respect.

Character count: 135

Based on trailers and commercials for the movie, what have you seen that has gotten you the most hyped for the film?

Cap blocking Thanos' punch (Man Crush intensifies) and that cliche #HeroShot in Wakanda with the entire army running toward the camera.

Character count: 135

What is the likelihood that we get a major character death at some point in the movie?

100%. It has to happen. Thanos needs to raise the stakes and show that he isn't messing around.

Character count: 95

Which five characters do you think have the greatest chance of dying in "Infinity War"?

1 Vision - Infinity Stone in his head
2 Thor - Asgard is gone
3 Gamora - Thanos' kid
4 War Machine - expendable
5 Hawkeye - the heartbreaker

Character count: 140

Who would you be sad to see die?

1 Captain America - Popular theory. DON'T DO IT.
2 Hawkeye - Would be sad
3 Star-Lord - Not likely
4 Groot (He's safe)
5 Bucky (Also safe)

Character count: 138

Who, if anyone, would you like to see die?

1 Black Widow - sucks
2 War Machine - don't care, lamest character
3 Nebula - so annoying
4 Iron Man - he'd deserve it
5 Aunt May - lol

Character count: 135

Which character do you think will steal the most scenes and become the audience's sleeper favorite?

Ant-Man, Star-Lord or Black Panther's sister, Shuri.

Character count: 52

You blogged about your reaction to "Captain America: Civil War." Have any of your opinions changed since then?

I wasn't impressed by Black Panther in CA:CW, but I did enjoy his stand-alone movie much more than I expected to. Saw it twice, even!

Character count: 133

Make a bold prediction for the movie.

We're going to have ourselves a good old WWE-style heel turn! One of the Avengers will join Thanos.

Character count: 99

Make a stupid, totally unreasonable prediction for the movie.

Batman cameo.

Character count: 13

Give us your final thoughts, heading into this weekend.

This will be the best Marvel movie so far, but will not be as good as the sequel. Also, #TooManyHeroes, not enough screen time to go around.

Character count: 140

What are you looking forward to, heading into #InfinityWarWeekend? Who do you want to see die? What are your bold predictions? Let us know below, in #140Characters or less.

2015's best movies in 140 characters or less

As we come to the end of another year, we pause to reflect on the highlights from 2015. The next few days will certainly be filled with introspection, goal setting and quality time with our families, but let us take just a moment to ponder another important aspect of the past 365 days of our lives: the best movies of the year!

In this blog, I'll count down my favorite movies of 2015 - and I'll do it Twitter-style - in 140 characters or less. (Disclaimer: Keep in mind that I did not see every movie that came out this year, nor am I listing every single show that I watched.) With no further ado, here are my top 15 movies. Let's get to it!

15. The Divergent Series: Allegiant (@Divergent)

  • I struggled to finish the book. The movie wasn't any better. I'm losing faith in this series and I'm not looking forward to #Insurgent.

14. Tomorrowland (#TomorrowlandMovie)

  • Biggest disappointment of the year, in my opinion. I fell asleep during a pivotal scene in the movie's "third act." No Space Mountain? #lame

13. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (@TheHungerGames)

  • This was the "least good" of the four movies. Felt a bit too long - and I didn't love the ending of book it was based on, either. #TeamGale

12. Inside Out (@PixarInsideOut)

  • A witty, clever movie about childhood depression. So sad. I saw it first at a drive-in theater, which was a terrible idea. #BingBongBingBong

11. Ant-Man (@AntMan)

  • It definitely didn't suck as much as the previews made it seem. Better the second time. Funny, but not my favorite from Marvel's Phase Two.

10. Bridge of Spies (@BridgeOfSpies)

  • Cold. Gray. Amazing. A fascinating story that kind of made me feel bad for the Russian. Tom Hanks is great, as we've all come to expect.

9. SPECTRE (@007)

  • Not as good as #Skyfall, but a fun ride with a surprising twist that is a big payoff for long-time Bond fans. Also, Batista is a beast.

8. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (@ManFromUNCLE)

  • Bond with a sense of humor. A couple of truly laugh-out-loud scenes and a totally rockin' soundtrack. Cavill and Hammer make a good team.

7.  Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (@MissionFilm)

  • Is there anything @TomCruise won't do? The airplane scene was definitely the best opening sequence of 2015. This tweet will self-destruct...

6. The Peanuts Movie (@PeanutsMovie)

  • I'll be doggone if this wasn't the cutest little movie I've ever seen. A wonderful, G-rated family film that anyone can enjoy. #TwoThumbsUp

5. Avengers 2 - Age of Ultron (@Avengers)

  • Not as good as the first one, but a great addition to the franchise. Gotta love those action scenes with all of the Avengers in action.

4. McFarland, USA (#McFarlandUSA)

  • Having served Spanish-speaking, this movie nearly brought me to tears on several occasions - and I don't even like running! A 2015 must-see.

3. Jurassic World (@JurassicPark)

  • A big-budget blockbuster with plenty of excitement and superb CGI. A step up from J.P. 2 & 3 and practically on par with the original film.

2. Creed (@creedmovie)

  • Creed got me right in the feels like a sucker punch to the kidney. A worthy successor to the Rocky films. Hoping for a sequel. #GonnaFlyNow

1. Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (@starwars)

  • My most anticipated film of 2015 was absolutely worth the wait. It's now one of my new favorite movies and I'll definitely see it again.

Well, there you have it. What were your favorite movies of 2015? Feel free to comment below in as many characters as you so choose.

Happy new year, friends.
